CF Belly

this is what it looks like....a little smaller than earlier today but I still look like I have a basketball under my dress haha!!!!!

  1. But, if I may ask, WHAT CAUSES CF BELLY???
We've been watching our little one and it looks like she's pushing her tummy out all the time but I don't think she's stopped up.

  2. For me, I think it is because I am lactose intolerant. I had a bowl of cheddar and broccoli soup and some sherbert yesterday and I was bloated all day, but if I avoid all dairy then I don't get the belly.

If she has a slow digestive system too that can cause her to get full and look full. I've had a bloated belly all my life, but never really talked to the doctor's about it.

  3. Mine does this with a lot of carbs too, so I am trying to go gluten-free and trying to not eat too much dairy... But, I'm a fat cfer so i don't have to worry about the "too-skinny" thing. :)

  4. Amy, congrats. I think it's a boy:)

  5. LMAO annon! It really does look like I am pregnant huh? :P

  6. Amy, it was me. I forgot to sign my name. Glad you took it as the joke it was meant to be.

  7. It's weird cause for me I am bloated sometimes and other times not so much. Check with your doc; I'm on modulon to help with the bloating. Overall it works pretty good. However, when bloated, I'm right there looking pregnant with you :)

  8. Kev I had a feeling it was you but didn't want to say it in case it wasn't :)

I do plan on mentioning it to my doctor next week...its on my list haha

  9. hey, this is colleen f. from facebook!
wow..that is quite the bloating :(
    i get bad sometimes.

my friend said something that i think also helps explain the distended stomach people with cf often get.

if you are like me, you have a barrel chest (enlarged ribs due to hyperinflated lungs). this causes the body to be 'deeper' or bigger horizontally, so to speak.

our internal organs take the shape of their container. ie: someone who is not 'deep' has a smaller space for their organs to fill horizontally and would 'mold' more vertically in the torso.

since we have a bigger space for our organs to fill, due to the enlarged chest cavity, the organs can fill our torso more so horizontally than vertically.

  10. that does make sense Colleen :)
